You may have children or dogs (go Oprah!) or are den mother to a few treasured gays. Perhaps your college major was theatre but now you are a dentist. You could be active in the the performing arts – as an actor, musician, educator, techie or dedicated audience member. Whoever you are, whatever you do or wherever you are in the world, we all have one thing in common: we love the entertainment arts and experiencing it – perhaps on stage or screen ourselves, as a couch potato critic, as a StageMama in training or a devoted fan– the performing arts bring us joy.
StageMama.com is dedicated to celebrating theatre, television, film and music as well as offering perspectives on parenting in the age of American Idol, Glee, America’s Got Talent, et al — all from a mom’s point-of-view. Mine. When people ask why I started the site I like to say, ”There was just nothing on the web that spoke to me: a woman with a husband, kids, a job, an adjustable-rate mortgage and the score to Wicked playing in my head.”
That pretty much sums it up.
